Consumer Critiques
Purchased this along with an HP laptop,Windows 7, Viewsonic 22" monitor, logitech USB mouse and keyboard and set it up for my wife who is rather non-technical. It was plug and play all the way. I had to modify the laptop to not "sleep" with the cover closed and the Viewsonic is present. All she has to do is boot up, log in, plug in one particular USB cable, close the cover, and she is off and running....and I don't have to babysit. Other reviewer comments appear to be lack of understanding the device or their laptop set up....Purchasing a second unit for my own use.
i bought this item for the reason that i was trying to clean up the wires around my desk and felt this would be a nice straight forward answer. i am middle of the road as far as personal computer tech potential and expected to have to install drivers and updates in order to get this to function correctly. right after installing all of the updates the device kept screwing up my monitor. it would not enable me clone/copy the laptop monitor, it just kept expanding it. additionally, during plug-in it would give me the blue screen of death at times and would force a restart.
1 other consideration, it does not have charging capability. i did not expcect it when i bought it but it is nevertheless a bummer not to have this function.
