Product Description
Does the case on your iPhone make connecting the sync/charge cable difficult or impossible? Just add the Shortz Extender to the cable and the problem is solved. This 30-pin extender uses a slim connector that will squeeze into cases with small port openings (including Apple's iPhone Bumper). Less than an inch long, it includes all 30-pins for past and future developments and works with iPad and iPod devices too. iPhone and cable not included.

I am so happy the dock extendor came early. I have otterbox defender case for both iphone 3gs and iphone 4. I think everyone with the OtterBox Defender case have expereinced at one time or other that if you want to plug in some accessories, you need to take the iphone out of the case or use dock extendor. RadTech dock extendor works great. the connection is solid and unlike some others it passes all the signals thru just like what it's supposed to do(imagine that!)All the extendors I've tried before had one issue or another and it was just too frustrating. Great job Radtech
I recently paired my iPad 2 with the stellar and very rugged Griffin Survivor case. I absolutely love how the case provides very real and substantial protection, but I was a bit disappointed to find that the dock connector area was only wide enough to fit the basic dock connector cable. I wanted to use the other accessories such as the Camera Connection Kit and VGA Video Out cable without having to take my iPad out of its case, so getting a slim dock extender was key.
The RadTech Dock Extender supports full functionality of the Apple 30-pin dock connector, and allows for USB sync, audio playback, charging, and use of accessories. Although this seems totally obvious, there are some cables and dock extenders out there that fail to do this...the really cheap ones might only support charging or maybe both audio playback and charging, but that's it.
Overall, the RadTech Dock Extender is well made and does its job. The top part of the connector is tapered, so it's comparable in size and width to the official slim Apple Dock Connector to USB cable, so it should be able go anywhere the standard dock connector goes.
Note:
1) The RadTech dock extender will enable equipment configurations that were not originally intended. For example, although you can now stick an iPad directly on top of a Bose SoundDock, it's probably not a good idea. (More than likely, you'll destroy the dock extender and perhaps damage either the iPad or the SoundDock in the process!)
2) Due to thin profile of this dock extender, I would not rely on it to support the weight of a fully laden iPhone or iPod, and I certainly would not try with an iPad. In these cases, I'd turn to dock extension cables.
