Customer Critiques

I read critiques on the dock and thought it would make a terrific addition to my accessory collection, I have the automobile mount and like it. This mount allows me to have a clock by my side of the bed that I can see with out getting to put on my glasses. It also doubles as an overnight charger, I quite often forget to charge and the battery is so low in the morning that I normally have to limit use although out for the day. It is solid and well created, just about attractive in it's clean styling. If you are in doubt about buying, don't consider about it anymore, Buy IT NOW It will be nicely worth it.

The stand provides a nice, secure fit and is relatively straightforward to slip the Droid X in and out. I haven't applied the HDMI out on my Droid X, so I cannot comment on that, but hardware-wise this is five stars.

The computer software is also pretty solid. Placing the Droid X in the dock activates the dock plan, which attributes a massive, straightforward to read clock, charging indicator, and a widget/app bar at the bottom. It defaults to an Accuweather widget, a calculator, and the calendar, even though you can modify any of these or slide left or appropriate to access and addition 8 slots. The climate widget is the biggest gripe... it takes up two slots for no genuine cause and has been very buggy, often losing the location, though that seems to be improving in latest Droid X updates. You can just get rid of it if you like by lengthy-pressing it and dragging to the trash, and similarly you can add other widgets/apps by long-pressing on the desired spot on the slider bar.

For whatever cause, the Droid X hangs whenever it is coming out of the dock... takes it about 30 seconds to completely shift back to it's default interface. This is a software program issue that may well get fixed. You can also use the X button to exit out of the dock screen at any time and use the typical Droid X interface.

At the time of this evaluation (10/2010), this is far superior to any 3rd party choices I have seen. Given how a lot energy the Droid X can suck, I highly recommend getting this dock for operate or your desk or nightstand at home.
